Miniature Honing Guide
VERITAS

Product information

Veritas has been producing miniature versions of its tools for many years. While these certainly make excellent collectibles, they are nonetheless fully functional. This miniature honing guide is a logical addition for anyone who uses the small versions of Veritas chisels and planes and needs to keep them sharp.

This version of the original Veritas honing guide, scaled at 1:3, consists of a sharpening guide and a setting gauge. The body of the sharpening guide is cast from aluminum, and the roller is made from brass. With the stainless steel clamping screw, irons up to 19 mm wide can be clamped against the support of the guide.

The base plate of the setting gauge is 63.5 mm long. It features a five-sided disc that helps you set the five most common bevel angles (15°, 20°, 25°, 30°, and 35°). To do this, insert the iron loosely into the guide, slide it up to the disc, and clamp it tight. You can precisely set the same angle each time you want to sharpen the iron, which reduces the time you need for sharpening.

The honing guide is not only suitable for Veritas miniature tools. You can also use it to sharpen other small irons, such as those of detail hand planes or other small planes. It is delivered in a matching faux leather case.
