This scraper plane is another member of Veritas’s fully functional miniature series. With a width of 81 mm (3-13/16 inch), it is about one-third the size of the larger model. It weighs 425 g. The small size allows for great control when smoothing surfaces.
The 24 mm wide blade made of spring steel is ground at an angle of 45° and is securely held by the plane body, so the angle and depth do not change during planing. Using a knurled knob, you can curve the blade to prevent the corners from leaving grooves in the workpiece. The position of the handles allows you to apply force precisely in line with the cutting edge.
The plane body is made of cast iron, and the knurled knob is made of stainless steel. The plane comes in a matching box, with an exterior covered in faux leather, making it a perfect gift.
