The BESTER sharpening stones from the manufacturer Imanishi in Kyoto offer a grinding sensation similar to that of natural stones. BESTER sharpening stones have a medium hardness, do not require an excessive amount of water, and allow you to work quickly. You can hear and feel that significant material removal is taking place, and when you look at the blade, you’ll be amazed by the amount. The stone responds quite directly to the user’s actions – those who have rubbed on stones before and didn’t notice a change in a blade or couldn’t develop a sense of what was happening will appreciate this greatly. The wear of the stone and the resulting hollow grind are relatively low. You should soak it for 5 minutes. The coarser side will demand a bit more water after a few minutes, which will be rewarded with a higher grinding speed. Suitable for both carbon steels and stainless steels.
