The standard version of the Veritas MK. II Honing Guide consists of the standard holder, the straight roller, and the angle-setting jig. It is the best choice for sharpening plane irons and wide chisels. You can use it for sharpening plane and chisel blades that are between 12.7 mm and 73 mm wide and up to 11.9 mm thick. Sharpening blades with a skewed edge is also possible. The achievable bevel angles range from 15° to 54°. Additionally, you can create back bevels from 10° to 20°. The standard holder uses a clamping bar to hold the blade. With the straight roller, you can grind straight edges.
