Veritas MK.II Sharpening System
This is the further development of the classic sharpening system from Veritas. The main difference from the classic sharpening system is that the right angle (to the sides) of the blade can be set together with the bevel angle in one adjustment.
It is clearly more dangerous to drag a stone over a blade than to drag the blade over the stone. When working with the small shaping stones, remember that it is very easy to cut yourself. Not only when sharpening, but also when working with the Yarri plane, you should exercise increased caution to minimize the risk of cuts. Work concentrated and calmly!

The MK.II sharpening guide has three adjustment ranges based on the bevel angles: the blunt angle range (25° to 54° in 7 steps), the standard angle range (15° to 40° in 6 steps), and a range for the secondary bevel on the mirror side of the blade - for those who need or want this for plane blades (but please not for chisels).
- High-angle range (25° to 54°)
- Standard-angle range (15° to 40°)
- Back-bevel range (10° to 20°)

The guide consists of two components: the holder for the iron and the setting gauge, which can be precisely connected with a screw to align the iron at a right angle and set the bevel angle. The stop is designed so that preset angles can be repeated at any time.

This guide can accommodate both straight and conical chisels.

As soon as the iron is fixed in the correct position, the second component (setting gauge) is removed again.

As with the previous model, a second bevel can also be ground and its angle can be adjusted using the knurled screw on the wheel.
