The Lee Valley Replica Honing Guide is inspired by the Stanley No. 50 Honing Guide (Patent No. 605333). This simple guide is used for sharpening bench plane blades that are slotted for a chip breaker. Our version is suitable for original and replacement blades with a slot at least 11.1 mm (7/16") wide. As with most honing guides, the bevel angle is determined by the blade extension. With this guide, the blade is set using the registration ruler for either a 30° or 25° bevel angle. The barrel-shaped brass roller prevents skewing of the blade edge.

- 25° bevel: 82 mm
- 30° bevel: 67 mm
