This classic sharpening aid is now – after a long time – available with us again. The plane blades and chisels are clamped at the edges. With the centrally positioned 12 mm wide roller, this sharpening aid can be easily moved back and forth on the sharpening stone. There are two clamping levels: the upper one is suitable for plane blades with a width of 36 to 78 mm, and the lower clamping level is for chisels and plane blades with widths of 2 to 46 mm. On the side, there are indications for the blade protrusion at different bevel angles:
Chisel 30 mm protrusion results in a 30° bevel angle
Chisel 40 mm protrusion results in a 25° bevel angle
Plane blade 38 mm protrusion results in a 30° bevel angle
Plane blade 50 mm protrusion results in a 25° bevel angle
These figures are only guidelines. Ensure that if an existing angle is to be maintained during sharpening, the bevel is fully seated on the sharpening stone. Additionally, in principle, all angles that make sense for chisels are possible.
