Product information
For those who primarily sharpen narrow blades, Veritas offers a special sharpening guide. This consists of the holder for narrow blades, the straight roller, and the angle-setting gauge. It clamps blades with widths from 3.2 mm to 38 mm using parallel jaws. This ensures that the blades are clamped at a right angle to the sharpening guide. The blades are reliably held by the angled jaws and pressed onto the support surface of the sharpening guide. It doesn’t matter whether the sides of the blades are perpendicular to the face side or beveled.
You can use the sharpening guide for blades with perpendicular sides up to a thickness of 8.7 mm and for blades with beveled sides up to a thickness of 11.9 mm. Bevel angles between 15° and 40°, as well as back bevels from 10° to 20°, can be ground.
The holder for narrow blades clamps the blade with parallel jaws from the sides, ensuring the blade is at a right angle to the sharpening guide. With the help of the straight roller, you can grind straight edges. The roller is 51 mm wide, providing sufficient guidance even for very narrow blades.
