Product information
This version of a low-angle block plane is approximately two-thirds the size of the regular Veritas block plane.
Measuring just under 64 mm (2-1/2 inches) in length and 19 mm (3/4 of an inch) in width, it is very useful for smaller tasks or in areas that are difficult to reach with a larger plane. The bed angle of only 12°, combined with the iron’s bevel angle of 25°, results in a cutting angle of 37°. This makes this block plane well-suited for working with end grain.
Using the stainless steel adjustment mechanism (Norris style), you can adjust the 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) wide and 1.5 mm thick iron made of A2 steel very precisely. The plane body, with a fixed mouth, is made from stainless fine casting. The sides are milled, and the sole is ground. The entire plane weighs only about 50 g (1.7 oz) and is made in Canada.
The plane comes in a matching faux leather box, making it an excellent gift option.
In the image on the left, the miniature block plane is shown alongside the regular block plane for size comparison.
