Product information
This miniature version of the Veritas Standard Rabbet Plane was developed to test the limits of what is possible in terms of material, design, and manufacturing process—not to mention the patience of the Veritas developers. The result is the smallest Veritas plane to date. It weighs only 50 grams, is 63.5 mm long, and 6.35 mm wide.
This tiny tool is fully functional and surprisingly effective for planing the bottoms of small rabbets and grooves. Surprisingly, it even fits so well in the hand that working with it is comfortable. The plane body is made of stainless cast iron, manufactured using the lost-wax casting process. The mouth of the plane is not adjustable. The stainless steel fine adjustment for the 1.5 mm thick blade functions very precisely. The bed angle is 15°, combined with the 25° bevel of the blade, resulting in a cutting angle of 40°.
The plane comes in a neat little plastic flip box, making it a fine gift. And all this at an astonishingly affordable price!
