This scraper plane is the newest member of Veritas’s fully functional line of miniature tools. Weighing less than 28 g (1 ounce) and measuring only 89 mm (3-1/2 inches) in length, it is about one-third the size of the „normal” flat-bottomed scraper plane from Veritas. It is excellent for the finest cuts on small workpieces or in areas where a normally sized tool is difficult to use.
The 14 mm (9/16 inch) flat plane body is made of cast steel, with a bed angle of 45°, a non-adjustable tight mouth, and handles made of Bubinga. The sole and bed are machined. The A2 steel blade is 19 mm (3/4 inch) wide, 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) thick, and hardened to 60-62 HRC.
This plane comes with a matching box, making it an excellent gift option.
