Water stones based on corundum, with a tendency to be somewhat softer, especially as the grit becomes finer. The surface can be easily flattened with appropriate measures.
The stones provide good feedback. Slurry forms quickly, and the surface changes from „white” to „black” in a short time, reflecting the significant material removal. Suitable for all steels. Even PM-V11 may lose its „fear factor” for some users. Smooth grinding feeling, without being scratchy.
To prevent warping, the stones are equipped with a tempered glass plate. Grit specification is on the back of the stones, secured by the glass plate. As for water requirement, it is a „splash-and-go” stone. This means long pre-soaking is not necessary; generally, it suffices to moisten the surface at the start of work, followed by a sparing additional sprinkle. We advise against long soaking sessions, as this can lead to hairline cracks similar to those that can occur with NANIWA Professional/Chocera stones. However, due to the glass base, there is no risk of the stone breaking apart. Thus, in further use, any cracks are more of a cosmetic issue, with no expected impact on sharpening results. Storage should definitely be dry!

For a complete setup in the area of sharpening and honing, not all 5 stones are necessarily required; one can be well-served with just 3 of them. Delivery includes a non-slip mat!
