With this rebate and rabbet plane, you work quickly and cleanly—without the noise and dust that machines create!
This plane features an iron set at a 30° angle, reducing cutting resistance and improving chip removal. The angled setting also ensures that the fence is automatically pressed against the workpiece. The plane works cleanly into the inner corners of edges as it is easy to align the iron flush with the side of the plane.
The scoring cutter can be depth-adjusted with a screw on the opposite side of the plane, or it can be fully retracted when planing along the grain, for example.
The 187 mm long fence is pre-drilled in two places for attaching wooden extensions. The dual guide of the fence adjustment is very precise and accurate. The maximum rabbet width is 38 mm.
The additional depth stop can be set to a maximum rabbet depth of 19 mm. For deeper rabbets, the stop can simply be unscrewed.
The iron is 3.2 mm thick and 41 mm wide. The iron adjustment is simple, fast, and precise. The slider, independent of the knurled screw, prevents the iron from shifting sideways when the depth adjustment knurled screw is turned. Two side screws allow for repeatable settings.
The large wooden handles make working with this plane very comfortable. The plane body made of ductile cast iron is 248 mm long, and the plane weighs approximately 1600 g.
This plane is available in both left-handed and right-handed versions. Generally, one plane is sufficient depending on whether you are right or left-handed. However, if you want to plane cleanly and without tear-out even with difficult grain patterns, it is advisable to have both planes to be able to change the planing direction.
