With this rebate and chamfer plane, you can work quickly and cleanly—without the noise and dust caused by machines!
This plane features a blade angled at 30°, which reduces cutting resistance and facilitates better chip ejection. The angled blade also ensures that the guide is automatically pressed against the workpiece. The plane works cleanly right up to the inner corners of edges, as it is easy to adjust the blade flush with the side of the plane.
The scoring blade can be depth-adjusted using a screw on the opposite side of the plane, or it can be retracted entirely when, for example, planing along the grain.
The 187 mm long guide is drilled in two places to accommodate wooden extensions. The double guide adjustment is very precise and accurate. The maximum rebate width is 38 mm.
The additional depth guide can be set to a rebate depth of up to 19 mm. For deeper rebates, the guide is simply unscrewed.
The blade is 3.2 mm thick and 41 mm wide. The blade adjustment is easy, fast, and precise; the slider independent of the knurled screw prevents the blade from shifting laterally when turning the depth adjustment knurled screw. Two side screws allow for repeatable settings.
The large wooden handles make working with this plane very comfortable. The plane body, made of ductile iron casting, is 248 mm long, and the plane weighs approximately 1600 g.
This plane is available in both left-handed and right-handed versions. Generally, one plane suffices, depending on whether you are right- or left-handed. However, if you wish to plane cleanly and tear-free even with difficult grain patterns, it is advisable to acquire both planes to be able to change the planing direction.
