This shoulder plane is the largest in the Veritas range. Its size and weight allow you to achieve the accuracy you’ve long desired, even with large wood joints.
The adjustable mouth allows for the finest shavings with a minimum of tear-out. The low bed angle of 15°, combined with a 25° bevel on the iron, results in a cutting angle of 40°. This means it’s also perfectly suited for end grain planing! The iron is 3.2 mm (1/8 in.) thick and made from PM-V11 steel, hardened to Rockwell 60 – 62.
The fine adjustment mechanism allows for simple and sensitive iron setting.
The wooden knobs can be fixed in various positions – a great relief!
