This sleek pocket-sized plane allows for the finest shaving removal in areas that are typically only accessible with a narrow chisel. Grooves from 6 mm in width can be worked on with it.
Although these rebate planes are very narrow, care has been taken to design the plane body in such a way that it fits comfortably in the hand. This was achieved by extending the brass cap backward and upward, making it also serve as a comfortable rest for the palm. The plane body is made of ductile iron cast with a fixed, non-adjustable mouth. The sole is 76 mm long.
The low 15° plane bed combined with a 30° bevel grind of the iron results in a cutting angle of 45°. The lapped iron is made of O1 tool steel. This plane is available in 5 sizes (6 mm, 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch = 8 mm, 3/8 inch, 10 mm), covering three inch sizes and three mm sizes.
