The rabbet plane is the best tool for refining wood joints, particularly tenons. It is also very well suited for rabbets.
The adjustable mouth allows for the finest shavings with minimal fiber tear-out. The low bed angle of 15°, combined with a bevel angle of 25°, results in a cutting angle of 40°. This means it is also perfectly suited for planing end grain! The blade is 3.2 mm (1/8 in.) thick and made of A2 steel, hardened to Rockwell 60 – 62.
The brass knob on the back of the plane is adjustable in various positions. The blade can be very well adjusted in depth with the fine blade adjustment.
