Handsaw
229H RAPID 9 TPI Premium 400mm G-MAN

Product information

From the broad range of the manufacturer, we deliberately chose the Rapid model from the Premium series. In our internal tests, it is more than just a successful reinterpretation of a classic.

Originally more geared towards fast cutting for rough work, these hand saws feature a triple-edge tooth design inspired by Japanese models and a matching set that provides remarkable cutting quality. The teeth are aligned in a straight tooth line for push cuts.

Due to the hardening of the tooth tips (HARDPOINT) over about 2 mm, the saws remain sharp 3 to 5 times longer than usual. As a result, and also due to the demanding tooth geometry, resharpening is practically impossible or not sensible.

Unlike their traditionally manufactured counterparts, these saws are ready for use: No sharpening or reworking of the set is needed, no need to delve into the subject of sharpening, and no requirement for special sharpening tools!

The saws are equipped with an ergonomic soft grip handle: Made from plastic, it features rubberization for better grip. The shape and size are balanced so that almost any hand size, whether with or without work gloves, can be accommodated. The side of the handle facing the blade provides guidance for cuts at 45° or 90° angles: Align the corresponding area on the workpiece, then mark along the back. For many applications, such as quick crosscuts on the construction site, this is precise enough. Although the attachment of the blade to the handle with three screws might suggest otherwise, replacing the blade is not intended.

The tooth design is similar to a Japanese crosscut or universal tooth pattern but also suitable for sheet materials and rip cuts.
Blade thickness: 1.0 mm
Cutting width: 1.4 mm

Choose the tooth spacing according to your preferred application: 11 tpi for higher cutting quality, 9 tpi for faster work progress. The blade length can be based on the dimensions of the workpiece, the range of arm motion (body size), and possibly the transport or storage options. The saws feature a practical and generously sized cut-out at the blade end for space-saving hanging.
