Thomas Flinn is primarily known for his fine woodworking saws but has now started producing crosscut saws under his brand „Lynx.” The blade hardness is between 45 – 49 HRC and can be easily resharpened with a flat file. Thomas Flinn two-man saws come WITH a pair of 365 mm long handle inserts!

Plain Tooth: For centuries, only simple tooth designs with triangular cutting teeth were used. These saws typically do not have particularly large gullets for sawdust. The sawdust is transported into the spaces between the teeth. Under unfavorable conditions, wet or resinous sawdust can clog this tooth design. It is best suited for sawing dry, very hard, or brittle wood. Our saws feature a significantly increased spacing between the teeth, which helps prevent clogging!

Unlike Japanese saws, Western saws, such as the rip saws offered here, are generally not ready to use. They are usually adequately set, but in our opinion, not sufficiently sharpened. Even if manufacturers claim that their saws are ready to use, this should not always be taken at face value, and you should at least be prepared for resharpening with a file.
