The iron is 3.2 mm (1/8 in.) thick and 41 mm (1-5/8 in.) wide and is made from A2 steel, which is much more resistant to chipping than the irons of other planes. Additionally, this plane iron is 50% thicker than those in many other block planes, preventing it from chattering when planing over knots, for example.
Another exceptional feature is the combined depth and lateral adjustment. This adjustment is significantly more accurate than other mechanisms. It includes fine iron adjustment and mouth adjustment.
