Product information
Veritas calls this plane the „Apron Plane,” meaning that the carpenter can carry this plane in their pocket all day without being restricted in movement, as would be the case with a larger, heavier plane. No wonder, as it weighs less than half a kilogram and is so comfortable to hold that you won’t want to put it down.
The plane body is made from a tough special cast iron and can withstand a few accidents. It won’t break immediately if it falls to the ground. The side wings are ground at a perfect right angle to the sole, allowing it to plane right-angled edges without any problems when used on its side.
It is 140 mm long, the carbon steel blade is 2.5 mm thick, 32 mm wide, and hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 60 – 62. The bed angle is 12°.
Like the other block planes from Veritas, it features a combined blade fine and lateral adjustment, which significantly simplifies the entire adjustment process. It corresponds in size to the No. 102. With blade fine adjustment.
