This unique rasp design consists of 10 individual, zigzag-bent hardened saw blades that are riveted together into a dense mesh, forming a rasp surface on the underside. There is enough space between the individual blades to easily accommodate debris, preventing clogging, unlike traditional rasps. This rasp is suitable not only for wood but also for soft metals, plastic, and plaster.
The teeth of a conventional rasp usually do not extend to the outer edge, making work on inner edges rather difficult. With this rasp, it is effortless, as the teeth cover the entire rasp surface.
Each Shinto rasp has a coarse and a fine side. With the coarse side, you achieve rapid material removal, and after a quick switch and rotation of the blade, you can immediately fine-tune your work. This rasp can be used single-handedly or with both hands like traditional rasps.
