For over 100 years, LIOGIER has been producing exceptionally high-quality hand-cut rasps in the Auvergne region of France. At times, it was one of the largest manufacturers of these tools in Europe, although it was virtually unknown outside of France.
Hand-cut rifflers differ significantly from machine-cut ones. The material removal is considerably higher, with surprisingly good surface quality thanks to the ultra-sharp irregularly cut teeth.
LIOGIER only produces on order. Therefore, we always keep a selection of his rasps in stock to be able to deliver them to you immediately.
Rifflers are designed for working in hard-to-reach areas. There are 8 models available, each with 2 different shapes from a total of 13 different shapes.
The cuts of the Liogier rasps are numbered from No. 1 to No. 15, with No. 1 being the coarsest and No. 15 the finest. Rifflers are available with cuts from 8 to 15, with cuts 11 to 13 being the most common in practice.
