Product information
Door spreaders are clamping devices not just for doors; they are significantly more versatile in their applications than the name might suggest. Whether for table tops, cabinets, or the production of laminated wood, with these door spreaders, you can glue precisely and securely. The door spreaders consist of a rail, a fixed clamping head with a spindle, and a movable clamping head that can be quickly adjusted with a lever.
Achieving low weight with high stability was the goal when designing these door spreaders, because many of our customers have small workshops where the tools need to be put away after the work is done.
The rails of the JUMMA door spreaders are made of high-strength aluminum with a material thickness of 3.5 mm, typically used in the aircraft industry. Unlike steel rails, you are now handling lightweight tools, which is particularly important when the spreaders cannot have a permanent place in the workshop due to space constraints. The clamping heads are made of an extremely durable impact-resistant aluminum alloy. The spindle of the fixed clamping head has a travel path of 36 mm with a grid spacing of the rail of 25.4 mm and measures 12.7 mm in diameter. The associated wrench is 94 mm long. The movable clamping head can be quickly shifted by lifting a small lever and locks securely into the notches when released. The rubber clamping jaws protect the workpiece, allowing you to dispense with additional padding, and they are slightly inclined forward to prevent lifting of the clamped boards. These clamping jaws allow a clamping height of 48 mm and are 57 mm wide. Screws, bolts, and spindle are made of steel. Clamping force up to 3400 N.
In the image, you see 4 door spreaders with a 600 mm clamping width in action. Be sure to order a sufficient number of door spreaders. If the spreaders are too far apart on longer boards, there may not be enough tension in the intermediate area! We recommend a distance of 30 cm, depending on whether more or less warp-prone wood is used, the distance may be a bit smaller or larger.
For wider gluing operations, it is advisable to secure the boards against lifting during clamping with additional clamps. Although the jaws of the door spreaders are inclined a few degrees forward so that the workpiece tends to be pressed down, this effect diminishes with more than two boards.
