These portable work surfaces feature a grid of 19 mm (3/4 inch) holes for bench dogs, as well as a perimeter of quadruple T-slot tracks (1/4-20) for attaching clamps and fixtures. This provides almost as many clamping options as a traditional workbench. The 38 mm (1-1/2 inch) thick top is made from hard, stable Baltic birch plywood.
Four 25 mm (1 inch) high rubber feet provide an overall height of about 63 mm (2-1/2 inch). This is suitable for workbench accessories with shafts less than 60 mm (2-3/8 inch) long, such as short round bench dogs or the low-profile bench dogs from Veritas. The rubber feet also ensure that the work surface does not slip during use.
Plastic corner caps prevent your clothing from catching on the ends of the T-slot tracks or the tracks from scratching the workpiece. The sliding nuts for the clamp screws can be inserted into the tracks through recesses in the corner caps without having to remove the caps. Additionally, pairs of 89 mm (3-1/2 inch) high risers are available, which run along the entire length of the work surface. These raise the work surface high enough to use accessories with shafts up to 123 mm (4-7/8 inch) long.
