Bench Blade for T-Slot Tracks
VERITAS

Product information

This new version of the low-profile bench dog from Veritas can be attached at any point along a T-slot track. Tightening the screw with an Allen key simultaneously secures the bench dog on the track and sets the orientation of the clamping jaw. The low-profile bench dog protrudes only 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) above the work surface, so it does not interfere with the processing of the workpiece.

The low-profile bench dog is used in a manner similar to a toggle clamp. It features an eccentric clamping lever, which can be operated with the thumb and presses the movable jaw against the workpiece. This allows you to quickly clamp workpieces and release them just as quickly. The jaw moves only about 6 mm (1/4 inch) when clamping, yet it develops a clamping force of up to 136 kg.

Flattened areas on the eccentric serve to secure the tension at 3.2 mm (1/8 inch) and 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) jaw advancement. The clamping surface of the jaw measures 38 mm x 6.35 mm (1-1/2 inch x 1/4 inch) and is tilted 5° inward to firmly hold the workpiece on the work surface. The eccentric and the jaw are made of cast steel and have been heat-treated to increase the hardness of the surface. The sliding nut and the screw are made of steel.
