Product information

Ungewöhnlich zierliche Beitel mit einer Schneidlage aus hoch Kohlenstoff haltigem Shirogami 2 (Weißpapierstahl) von Hitachi. Durch das leicht abgewinkelte Eisen, welches relativ dünn, ähnlich einem Usu-Nomi ist, können bei Bedarf wesentlich tiefere Löcher ausgearbeitet werden, als die kurze Klinge vermuten lässt.

Das kaum merklich tonnenförmig ausgearbeitete Heft ist aus zäher Weißeiche gefertigt. Die matte, gehämmerte Zwinge muss nicht weiter aufgetrieben werden, das Ende des Griffes ist bereits pilzförmig darüber geschlagen. Es ist somit „nur“ das übliche Abrichten der Spiegelseite, das Schärfen und Abziehen mit etwaiger Anpassung des Fasenwinkels an die individuellen Erfordernisse, zu erledigen.

Aufgrund der Abmessungen sind diese sehr leichten Beitel besonders für kleinere bis mittelgroße Hände geeignet und tendenziell eher für feinere Arbeiten gedacht. Auch wenn die allgemeine Anmutung etwas anderes vermuten lässt, handelt es sich hier um vollwertige Werkzeuge und nicht um Spielzeug!
