A Moxon Vice clamps to any bench, raising your workpiece to a convenient height and holding it rock-solid. If you cut dovetails and other joints by hand, this is a vice that will completely change your experience in the shop. Fast and effortless, the Moxon vice makes joinery a pleasure.
BENCHCRAFTED Moxon Vice Hardware
The Moxon vice is fitted with cast iron hand wheels for rapid, easy adjustment. Instead of the handwheel rotating the screws and being restricted by the weight of the movable jaw, BENCHCRAFTED tapped the handwheels, allowing them to move in and out on the rigid screws. The mass of the wheels and the polished acme threads allows the hand wheels to spin freely and do the work of drawing the jaws together effortlessly. Setting one wheel for the workpiece thickness, the opposite wheel is massive enough to literally push the jaw to the workpiece and hold it there solidly with only a quick spin of the wheel. In most cases, that's all that’s necessary to hold the work.

YORK Moxon Vice with wooden Jaws and 2 Spindles
A YORK Moxon spindle set is used for this benchtop-mountable vice. The wooden jaws are made of beech and can be fixed to the workbench in various ways, as shown in the picture. A low-profile squared piece of timber is screwed to the rear wooden jaw to clamp the mountable vice to the workbench using hold-downs. The rear jaw is cut away at either end so that the mountable vice can also be fixed to the bench stop face strip with standard screw clamps. Requiring no input on your part, this model lets you start work immediately.
Spindle dimensions as above
Dimensions of wooden jaws 500 x 140 x 45 mm
Max. opening 130 mm

Note: The two wooden jaws may differ in height by 1 to 2 mm, which should have no effect during normal usage. You could plane a little off the protruding jaw if this bothers you.
