The BENCHCRAFTED Moxon Vise can be mounted on any workbench. With its help, you can securely clamp your workpiece at a comfortable height. If you are crafting dovetails or other wood joints by hand, this vise will be a revelation for you. The quick, effortless work in a relaxed posture makes crafting wood joints a pure pleasure. With the help of the spindle kit for the Moxon Vise, you can also realize other constructions. For example, a front vise for a small workbench or other clamping devices.
The spindle kit includes cast iron handwheels that allow for easy and fast adjustment of the vise. Instead of being typically fixed to the spindles, Benchcrafted has equipped the handwheels with a thread so that they can move on the stationary spindles. Therefore, the handwheels are not connected to the movable jaw, allowing them to rotate freely. Due to their mass and the excellent sliding properties of the polished acme threads, the handwheels continue to spin once set in motion, pulling the vise together. If you set one handwheel to match the thickness of your workpiece, it’s enough to spin the other to move the jaw against the workpiece and clamp it. Most of the time, this is sufficient to firmly clamp the workpiece; tightening is only necessary in exceptional cases.

- 2 handwheels with 5 inch (127 mm) diameter and sand cast finish
- 2 8 inch (203 mm) long acme threaded spindles made of carbon steel, 3/4 inch diameter and 8 tpi pitch
- 4 acme thread nuts 3/4 inch x 8 tpi
- 2 washers
- 1 piece of leather or crubber (a mix of cork and rubber) approximately 800 × 130 × 2 mm as jaw padding for gentle and firm clamping
