Japanese Pruning Shears, Bonsai Shears, Ikebana Shears, Trimming Shears, Leather Sheaths for Gardening Tools
Picture: Japanese garden in Berlin
Traditional Japanese tools are not stainless. The same thing is true today as in years gone by: the best tool blades are made of carbon steel, which simply is not stainless. However, it requires only a little care to keep them from getting rusty. Just dry them after use! From time to time they need to receive a smear of oil.
No blade will remain sharp for ever. To sharpen these tools, use our Japanese Waterstones. To cut branches of your garden trees we recommend Japanese pruning saws!

Featuring top professional quality and durability, these shears are hand forged! They are not of laminated steel, but rather of YCS3-Steel, which permits them to be hardened to 63 HRC. The hardness provides a very sharp, long-lasting cutting edge, and the steel is strong enough to take years and years of daily use. It is so tough in fact, that the shears can be forged thinner than most others, and so weigh only 138 grams. These shears are designed for relatively heavy work on thicker branches and harder woods.
