You want to unscrew a screw, and the bit of your screwdriver quickly and securely turns the seemingly solid Phillips head of the screw into a perfectly round hole during the counterclockwise rotation. This is very frustrating because it makes removing the screw significantly more difficult. Traditional screw extractors are cumbersome to use, as the extractor alone is not sufficient. You also need a hammer, center punch, twist drill, caliper, and tap wrench – essentially, an entire tool set to achieve your goal. And if you don’t work carefully, the extractor might break just before you reach the desired result.
It’s easier with a screw extraction plier, or – if there’s no side gripping surface left on the screw – with the special screw extraction tool from ENGINEER. You don’t need an additional tool set – at most, a hammer for especially difficult cases.
