Inspired by a comprehensive study of routers and router motors available on the market, which collectively did not meet expectations, JessEm set the ambitious goal of developing the ultimate router motor. The Canadians invested a year in testing and perfecting every aspect, including:

• At the top of the agenda was optimizing for a clean and safe workspace. This was achieved through a novel concept for dust extraction in this area, realized by an optimized influx of cooling air and an efficient air outlet. Especially when installed in a dust collection box, airflow management can be crucial. Two airflow openings at the motor base ensure a constant supply of fresh air, preventing overheating. Combined with the separate heavy-duty dust collection box and hose adapter kit, there is an unobstructed influx without the risk of wood/dust ingress. By redirecting the motor exhaust to the sides and downward, the issue of air being blown upwards through the router table opening is avoided. This innovative design improves chip removal and enables more effective dust extraction.
• Durability and precision should not lag behind. Consequently, paired high-performance spindle bearings in a back-to-back DB arrangement are used, characterized by a wide support base and high rigidity against tipping moments. These two angular contact ball bearings with low-friction seals and matched grease are designed for speeds up to 30,000 RPM, ensuring exceptional stability, durability, and resistance to wear and overheating.
• Another significant advantage is the ease of operation. This is facilitated by a sturdy steel sheet box that can be ergonomically positioned on the router table. The speed can be continuously adjusted using a metal rotary knob. The display is provided by a large, easy-to-read LED display. Equipped with a no-voltage release switch, the motor is ideal for environments where safety is paramount, as it prevents unintended activation after a power outage. Naturally, the motor features a soft start.

The motor is mounted in a suitable router lift 315661 or 332005.
