This is the philosophy driving the drill manufacturer Löher, which has been making top-quality bits in Remscheid, Germany, for the last 80 years. They were the first bit manufacturer to cut their grooves using CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting disks on their in-house-built groove grinding machines. CBN is almost as hard a diamond, and leaves a much smoother surface than normal grinders, allowing for much better chip clearance. These bits are a step above and cannot be compared with ordinary polished, milled or rolled drill bits. They are manufactured in Remscheid, Germany and bear the name of the maker.
