Always have a hand free! That is the great advantage of a one-handed clamp!
It may not exert as much force as a screw clamp, but for many tasks in the woodworking shop, the achievable pressure is completely sufficient.
However, when gluing heavy workpieces, they might reach their limits, so it’s better to use heavy screw clamps (malleable cast iron or all-steel). Thanks to the jaws made of soft plastic with their relatively large pressure surface, you will need an additional layer much less often than with a screw clamp. The one-handed clamp will quickly become one of the tools you wonder why you didn’t think of earlier.
