These self-adhesive sanding sheets are made from a uniformly aluminum oxide-coated, waterproof, and tough polyester film with a thickness of 125 µm (1/8 mm). The grit binding is flexible and keeps the grit firmly on the backing. This Alox Finishing Film is excellent for sanding hand tools and metal parts up to a hardness of 60 HRC. The sheets can be cut with scissors as desired and can be adhered to any suitable smooth surface such as plexiglass, glass, stone, or wood.
What is the difference between Alox Finishing Film and Alox Lapping Film?
In the Alox Finishing Film, the grit is sprinkled onto the binder and then electrostatically aligned so that the grains stand out sharply. This makes this abrasive aggressive.
In the Alox Lapping Film, the grains are embedded in the binder, resulting in significantly less aggressive sanding. Therefore, this abrasive is suitable for polishing.
