"Chair devils" - somewhat awkwardly translated: "chair devils" is what Veritas calls these rounded scraper shaves, which are excellent tools for shaping and smoothing rounded parts such as chair legs, small columns, tool handles, canoe paddle handles, etc.
The machined steel body is equipped with Bubinga handles, allowing comfortable work both on pull and push. The clamp attachment and knurled screws are made of brass. The carbon steel blade is 1 mm thick and hardened to 48 – 52 HRC. This value corresponds to the usual scraper hardness and allows the creation of a burr, if desired. The bevel is ground to 45°. Available in 3 sizes, 12.7 mm, 22.2 mm, 31.8 mm. Instructions currently only in English!
These tools are an ideal complement to spokeshaves with rounded irons and profile spokeshaves.
