The precision square rulers from MATSUI are made with high accuracy and are crafted from stainless steel. In addition to having an inner and outer scale on the thin arm, it features a Ura-me edge. This scale is used to determine the largest possible square cross-section that can be obtained from a round log. The square is placed across the end face of the log using the Ura-me scale, and the measurement is simply read off. One increment of the Ura-me edge is 1.414 mm (the square root of 2).
