Product information
The Veritas Low-Angle Jointer is the largest member of the Veritas low-angle plane family.
The design of this plane, with an iron whose bevel faces upwards, ensures that it is versatile and easy to use. The 12° bed angle combined with a 25° bevel angle on the iron results in an effective cutting angle of 37°. To achieve a larger cutting angle, which is beneficial when working with woods with difficult grain, simply increase the bevel angle of the plane iron.
The 57 mm (2-1/4 inch) wide and 4.8 mm (3/16 inch) thick iron is made from A2 tool steel and hardened to 60-62 HRC. An adjustable mouth plate allows for a wide range of mouth settings. The unique stop screw preserves the mouth setting while simultaneously preventing damage to the iron when it is removed or inserted.
