The teeth create a fine surface texture that can be smoothed with a smoothing plane or scraper plane. Particularly suitable for truing larger surfaces and for difficult grain patterns. This iron fits only the Veritas Low Angle Planes (Bevel Up) with a 57 mm iron width and not for standard planes with the bevel of the iron down. The bevel is 38°.
