The teeth create a fine surface texture that can be smoothed with a smoothing plane or card scraper plane. Particularly suitable for truing larger surfaces and dealing with difficult grain patterns. This iron fits only the Veritas bevel-up planes with a 57 mm iron width and not for standard planes with the bevel facing down. The bevel is 38°.
