The blade is polished and then the mirror side is ground flat. The handle fits very well in the hand. Users with both small and large hands praise the shape. These chisels are relatively short, but still too long to be simply referred to as butt chisels. With their length, they are close to Japanese chisels, which are known for allowing particularly precise and sensitive work due to the proximity of the working hand to the workpiece. From our perspective, these are fully-fledged chisels, as long as the mortising depth does not exceed 70 mm.
