In ancient Japan, the Kobiki-shokunin were those whose hard daily task was to saw logs lengthwise to provide carpenters and joiners with the material they needed to create their works.
Unfortunately, with the advent of the industrial revolution, these saws gradually disappeared. However, the Temagori Nokogiri, which are very similar to the Kobiki but not as wide and sturdy, are still more readily available. They are primarily used for felling trees and sawing thick branches. We have Temagori Nokogiri in stock, specially made for us, as these saws have become uncommon even in Japan.
The Anabiki Noko or Anahiki-noko is the saw for rough work: cutting beams at the ends or sawing firewood.
We offer some of these traditional saws for rough work. They are almost becoming rarities by now.
