Sometimes one wishes that a single type of sandpaper could handle all tasks, which would significantly simplify selection and inventory management. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible; tasks are very diverse, so sandpapers must also have different properties. With our three types of sanding sheets, you can perform almost all hand sanding tasks. The offered brands „MATADOR” and „ERSTA” stand for high quality and are made in Germany.

Our waterproof sandpaper brand „MATADOR” is densely coated with silicon carbide and is suitable for all paint surfaces, as well as for metal and wood, provided it is used wet. It is fully resin-bonded on flexible paper and available up to grit 7000. If you use this sandpaper for dry sanding, it clogs faster due to its dense grit coating than sandpapers specifically designed for dry sanding. It is conditionally, i.e., briefly, also suitable for oil sanding. If you frequently sand with oil, you should use Micro-mesh!

From „ERSTA” comes the ideal sandpaper for wood. It can also be used for dry sanding of paints and plastics. It is less densely coated than waterproof sandpaper, so it doesn’t clog as quickly. The used grit is corundum. It is not quite as hard and also slightly less sharp than silicon carbide – desired for a soft material like wood because then the scratch formation is not as pronounced. The „ERSTA SUPER CUT” we offer is fully resin-bonded and not to be confused with cheap flint paper or partially resin-bonded sandpaper – even of the same brand. „ERSTA SUPER CUT” is flexible due to the latex addition and has dust-repellent additives in the topcoat that prevent sanding dust from sticking to the grit surface. This significantly extends the lifespan.

On highly flexible fabric coated with corundum – fully resin-bonded – come our metal sanding sheets, also from „ERSTA.” Almost all metals and other materials like wood can be sanded with it, especially recommended for demanding sanding tasks. Designed for dry sanding! By the way: Due to its high flexibility, this sanding cloth is also popular with turners.
