This auxiliary handle is inspired by the „horns” mounted on the side of historical Scottish miter planes and provides a comfortable grip for the hand when the plane is used on its side.
The handle is made from heat-treated maple and allows you to push the plane with the base of your thumb while simultaneously pressing it against the workpiece with your fingers. This way, you have your other hand free to hold the workpiece.
The elongated holes in the aluminum base plate allow you to adjust the position of the auxiliary handle forward and backward to fit the plane and your personal preferences.
