This shaft clamp is designed to fit perfectly with the VERITAS Dual Marking Gauge. It can be slid over the two guide rods and then fixed in their position relative to each other. The stop of the marking gauge remains movable and can be freely adjusted. This allows you to retain the measurement of the tenon or mortise when joining parts of different thicknesses, as it prevents the distance between the cutting wheels from changing while adjusting the stop. The 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) long clamp, made of extruded aluminum, is precisely manufactured to avoid clamping on the guide rods. It features a turned brass knurled screw that does not damage the surface of the guide rods (which are made of steel) when tightened.
