Product information
On the occasion of NAREX’s hundredth anniversary, a new series has been launched, named after the founder of NAREX, Vaclav Richter. These chisels truly honor this milestone.
The chisel, made from chrome-vanadium steel, is traditionally forged, hardened, cryogenically treated, and tempered to achieve a minimum hardness of 62 HRC. The subsequent fine grinding and polishing produce a high-quality, glossy surface. The side bevels extend almost entirely to the back, allowing for easy access to tight working areas. The back is very well ground, requiring minimal effort to achieve a perfectly flat surface. The bevel is ground to 24°, making it more suitable for fine work and softwood. If a blunter angle is needed, such as for hardwood or when the chisel is struck strongly with a hammer, a secondary bevel can be ground with little effort.
The handle is made from European ash, a wood species that is highly suitable for this purpose due to its hardness, toughness, and beautiful grain. The handle is ergonomically shaped and finely sanded. A stainless steel ferrule prevents the handle from splitting, and a leather washer dampens hammer blows. The largest diameter of the handle across all sizes is 31 to 32 mm.
