A new generation of axes for splitting wood. Master blacksmith Lars Enander developed an axe with the aim of making wood splitting easier and increasing the lifespan of such an axe. The result is impressive: a wide axe head with a concave profile pushes the wood apart with minimal contact during splitting. The axe handle, made from high-quality hickory wood, is equipped with a steel handle guard to reduce wear and tear caused when the handle accidentally strikes the wood. The handle guard is pressed onto the handle and the axe head with a pressure of about two tons. Do not use this splitting axe as a hammer or wedge. That’s what the splitting maul is for!
