With the help of these 19 mm hardened steel drill bushings and a 38 mm (1-1/2 inch) thick piece of wood, you can create a guide to make precise holes for bench dogs.
The knurling on the outside of the bushing ensures a secure fit when installed in a 25 mm hole. The protruding flange ensures that the bushing sits perpendicular to the guide’s surface.
If you do not already have a 25 mm Forstner bit, you can find one here with a length of 90 mm.
To drill the holes in the workbench, we offer 19 mm bits that are 190 mm long. This makes them long enough to drill through the guide and even thick workbench tops. This wood twist drill bit features two pre-cutters that ensure the bit enters the workpiece cleanly and that the walls of the hole are smooth, making it ideal for creating holes for bench dogs.
