If you use the compass point instead of the stop, you can use the cutting head or the pencil holder to draw arcs and circles with radii from 19 mm (3/4 inch) to 95 mm (3-3/4 inch). If you use the 254 mm (10 inch) long extension rods, radii up to 248 mm (9-3/4 inch) are possible. Although it is not strictly necessary, it makes sense to mark the center of the circle using the scribing needle (available further down). This makes it very easy to position the compass point perfectly on the workpiece.
