Blade for old American Stanley No. 60-1/2 (1-3/8 in. =
35 mm) HOCK

Product information

These plane irons are a significant improvement over the usual „chrome-vanadium” blades that come with planes. These irons, made from high-quality, fine-grained carbon steel, can be sharpened much more easily—and they get sharper too! You will be impressed when you use this iron for the first time! The plane irons offered here are 17% thicker than usual and fit most iron planes available today. Take the time for some preparation, and your iron plane will perform significantly better. Smooth the sole of the plane, adjust the frog (the movable plane iron support) so that the plane mouth is no larger than absolutely necessary. Then sharpen the plane iron until it is razor-sharp. Refer to Ron Hock’s sharpening guide for this! Your plane will produce transparent, fine shavings and a silky smooth, glossy surface!

Fits the old Stanley plane, which is no longer produced today.
