VERITAS Dovetail Marker with 2 Measuring Wheels
The two independently adjustable rods of this marking gauge allow you to set two measurements simultaneously. This way, you can quickly switch between the two measurements when marking or transferring repetitive dimensions.
Overhangs of up to 146 mm can be easily adjusted, as an internal O-ring creates a light but constant friction on each rod. A knurled screw locks the setting. The hardened steel marking wheels mark perfectly at every point of their circumference. Because they cut the wood fibers rather than tear them, the marks are very clean – even across the wood grain.
On one rod, the cutting wheel is positioned at the very end. This is useful when you want to measure the depth of mortises or shoulders. Each cutting wheel can be retracted into the brass stop to protect it during transport or to use the marking gauge with only one cutting wheel. - Always check the accuracy of the level before use.
- Ensure that the contact surface is not dirty.
- Make sure that the level is properly positioned on its contact side.
- Protect the tool from impact.
- Do not disassemble the tool.
- If a higher measurement accuracy is required, use a different tool.
- Use or store the tool at a temperature of -10 to 60 degrees. Do not store the tool in direct sunlight, do not keep it in toolboxes or in the trunk of the car. Prolonged direct sunlight may cause the liquid in the vial to lose its coloring.
- Remove contaminants with clear water and, if necessary, a cloth with mild detergent. Under no circumstances use thinner, gasoline, or bleach.
The cutting wheels are arranged so that the bevels point in opposite directions. This ensures that the bevel can always be positioned to face the side that is to be cut off.
